General Information
A summer school for undergraduate students May 27 – June 7, 2013
A two-week program on the theoretical and experimental study of quantum information aimed primarily at students completing their third undergraduate year. The lectures and experiments are geared toward students in engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics and computer science, though all interested students are invited to apply.
The program has space for 20 students. Accommodations and meals are covered, and funding is available for travel expenses.
The summer school is staffed by the faculty of the Institute for Quantum Computing, a multidisciplinary research centre at the University of Waterloo and an internationally recognized leader in the development of quantum information processors. The two-week program will consist of lectures introducing quantum information theory and experimental approaches to quantum devices, followed by hands-on exploration of QIP using the experimental facilities of the institute. For a more extensive list of topics please view the program page.
Students interested in pursuing a summer internship at IQC after USEQIP are encouraged to indicate so on their application. We will do our best to accommodate requests for internships, but please note that an acceptance to USEQIP does not guarantee a subsequent internship.
Applications for USEQIP 2013 are now closed
Application deadline is March 4, 2013.
Reference letters are due March 11, 2013.
