QKD Summer School 2013
Date: July 29 to August 2, 2013
Location: Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo
Application deadline:15 May 2013 (late applications will be considered)
The International Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Summer School is a 5-day program focused on theoretical and experimental aspects of quantum communication with a focus on quantum cryptography. It was last held in 2011 and was established in 2008. This year, it is immediately followed by the QCRYPT 2013 conference. It is hosted by the Institute for Quantum Computing at the Mike & Ophelia Lazaridis Quantum-Nano Centre on the University of Waterloo main campus at 200 University Avenue West, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
The QKD Summer School aims to provide a solid foundation in relevant approaches and techniques to enable graduate students and young postdoctoral fellows to perform their own independent research. For the topics that will be covered, please see the scientific program.
Fees and Accommodations
The fee for participants is $120 CAD, which does not include transportation or accommodations.
Affordable accommodations have been reserved at Ron Eydt Village (REV) residence at University of Waterloo main campus. REV is only a five minute walk away from IQC. For additional information about accommodations, please visit the Conference Centre accomodations page. Participants are expected to arrange their own accommodations.
